Dusting off ol’ bloggy

Monday, October 4th, 2010

It just wouldn’t be a blog on the interwebs unless every post is about how it’s been a while since the last post. While I normally wouldn’t stoop to commenting on it normally, I think I’ve earned it after a wicked 10 month spree. (Was going for a record here…)

Anyways the economy has sucked and I’ve been between jobs, blah blah, and really what it comes down to is this: no bankroll, no poker, no poker writing…and really no motivation in general.

I’m on a life upswing now it seems and the motivation to blog has returned! (Along with the money to play some real poker)

I’ve been getting back into the swing of things by occasionally hitting up Cascades and Starlite Casinos, which are now nearby for me. I’ve also been working on going deep in tournaments by practicing on pokerstars.

Anyways, look for more coming soon, including updates on where to satellite in to the 2010 BC Poker Championship.

Hitting up the River Rock tomorrow night

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I’ve had a hankerin for some cash games lately that I really don’t think is going to go away until I fully satisfy this craving. I’ve penned in the River Rock Poker Room into my schedule for tomorrow night after work. Normally I like to wait until the weekend, as there tends to be more action at the tables… I just can’t wait that long. (yes, I realise that’s 2 days later)

What I like about the River Rock’s cash tables as opposed to the Edgewater, which is closer, is that the tables there tend to be quite a bit softer, mostly due to the fact that it is a tourist destination for the city. Lots of fish tend to migrate there more than most of the other casinos. This will hold especially true once the Canada Line Skytrain switches on. (So looking forward to this)

Anyways, my Wednesday night is locked in. I’ll be in Richmond once again on Friday night to see a friend at his birthday party. Assuming I do well enough and walk away with cash, I can see myself gravitating towards the general direction of the casino then too… Looks like this week is turning out to be pretty good afterall =)

Anyways, I’ll report back on how I do… wish me luck! Until then I’ll be practicing on Pokerstars.

Cheers

New Online Poker Site for Canadian Players Coming Soon…

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Wow, ok, so it’s been a month since my last post. I ended up having to move and have been sans-internet for some time now. But have no fear, I’m back and better than ever, though I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t played much poker… I’m sure my game is a bit rusty.

This of couse means I’m going to be brushing up on my game by hitting up a few tables online before I head back to the Edgewater Casino (which, unfortunately is no longer within walking distance =(). I’m thinking the best plan is to start with some limit cash games to brush off the rust, then move back into the tournaments I love to play.

But speaking of online poker, I’ve actually just gotten word from one of my good friends over at Bodog…. it looks like they’re going to be offering their online casino and poker services to Canadians (finally). This means that Vancouverites will soon have a site to play on which is taylored to Canadians. This ALSO means I can actually participate in the Bodog “Bodonkey” tournament for bloggers this September. Anyways, I’ll add their site under a new set of links of “Online Poker Sites for Canadians”.

Until next time, good luck at the tables

Cheers,
